I havent experienced any problems neither have the people i talked to about doing this 1st before i did it. and i'm having a hard time believing it to jump unless there was a fault in the installation, but i did my cap differently so it might help since i made my cap look liek the prd cap

actually no now i have to deny this is even possible, because all we are doing is converting our aspec disty into a jspec disty, the setup for the oil is the same except we are tapping into the the top of the cap, and they have a port for the cap on the side. besides that its the same design. i got a few friends in maylasia who have all upgraded to using magnecore plug wires and msd blaster coils, i know i ordered it for them
and they have no problems. something would of had to of happen durring the install, either where drilled wasnt sealed properly maybe then it would arc from another spot, but if done properly i dont see this happening.

Yea the HEI mod will deffantly give you a hell of alot more spark but then again it's not accurate as I have been told say for instance you'll be getting 10 amps of spark on cyl. no.1 you might be getting 5 amps on cyl.5 or you can get spark jump where as your rotor connects at cyl. no. 3 It can jump inside the cap to no.5 causing predetonation. I think I'm going to stay with O.E. Disty for now maybe try to find a way to accuratize it.
Who told you this? The only way something like that could even occur is if your rotor was lopsided. Since the contact points of the rotor and the distributor cap never change location.. the spark or current isnt going to be affected in the slightest. Utter garbage.. this is the kind of crap that starts rumors. If you cant provide substantiated documented proof of that.. you shouldnt post it. MX-3's owners arent even the folks who came up with this little mod.. its been done by ford probe owners for a LONG time. You are welcome to stay with your OEM distributor.. but dont call me when your dead on the side of the road

Lets all give tunes a big hand for tunes is the all knowing cranky god of mods. lets just get one thing straight I am simply relaying what I was told by an IMPORT MECHANIC that I work with not to mention was problay dragg racing when you were still in nuttsville to verfiy if this is true or not granted he's not doing this anymore and alot of things could've changed since then that is why there is places to get info. about these kind of things like this one. Now back to the subject he has said it's happened to him before But for the critics he didn't specify as to what caused the problem just that it has happened to him and it can so (caveot em tour). Now the next time you decide to respond to a comment how about trying to be a bit more civilized and less outrageous.

Cranky god of mods? LOL Whatever man.. your repeating information from one person thats no longer even in the business of working on cars anymore? Dude.. you need to get a grip. You are entitled to your opinion.. all I am stating is.. if your going to say something or some mod is bad.. back it up with verifiable proof.. rather than incoherant ramblings about how someone ELSE claimed to have a problem. Folks on this site know my background. I am not perfect.. I make mistakes all the time.. but your WRONG and spewing unsubstantiated garbage about this mod. And since you are so positive that your correct about this.. you should head over to Probetalk.com and MX-6.com and warn their memberships about this mod as well. Likely if your IMPORT MECHANIC knew what he was doing to begin with he wouldnt have had any issues with the mod.Lets all give tunes a big hand for tunes is the all knowing cranky god of mods. lets just get one thing straight I am simply relaying what I was told by an IMPORT MECHANIC that I work with not to mention was problay dragg racing when you were still in nuttsville to verfiy if this is true or not granted he's not doing this anymore and alot of things could've changed since then that is why there is places to get info. about these kind of things like this one. Just to be clear.. while I did indeed state that your information was incorrect.. (and even supplied a reason as to WHY it was incorrect) I did not at any point in my original post call you any name or indicate you were from Nuttsville.. and supposedly I am the one thats uncivilized? Dude.. get over yourself. Your wrong.. and your spewing misinformation. You call my response outrageous.. yet your the one that got insulting. But you keep on yelling and being indignant (you do know what that word means right?) and I am sure the other members here will eventually see how right and upstanding you are. Best of luck.
