I believe Sean Matthews at StreetImports can get a J-spec ECU.

Absolutely no re-wiring is necessary. The myth that re-wiring is needed is gossip, pure and simple.
You don't need a JDM VAF. They're the same part number in Japan as they are in the US.
You don't need to swap any sensors.
The only concern is with the 118 mph (actually in kmph but we use miles) speed limiter. A post by an Aussie contributer said that he defeated this by simply disconnecting the speed feedback to the ECU from the speedometer. Sounds interesting.

Right, Steve did have a ton of problems with his ZE ECU. His engine was OBD-II ('96 MX-3). His car wouldn't even idle with it in there. OBD-I engines won't have any problems. I wrote a little more about this on the other ZE ECU thread that's up right now.

quote:
Originally posted by white fish:
I'm all most positvie that Tekguy did the KL ZE ECU swap and had alot of hours of rewiring to do
but tekguy sold his car and his site seems to be down

A 03 VAF is not the correct unit to use.
