MX-3 Its unique silhouette and cutting-edge style give you a glimpse of the exhilarating driving experience in store for you. And with one touch of the accelerator, the Mazda MX-3 Precidia quickly delivers on that promise. Thanks to an enthusiastic but efficient 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder engine, it takes off with more standard
horsepower than the base engines found in either Paseo or del Sol. Power is capably transmitted to the road via a smooth-shifting 5-speed manual transmission. Or, you can equip your MX-3 Precidia with a 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive.
Out on the road, the MX-3 Precidia performs with impressive agility and responsiveness. Make a quick lane change and you realize at once that this sports coupe is every bit as capable as it is appealing.
Sounds a bit too good to be true? Actually, it's just the sort of thing you should expect from Mazda, the company that creates cars for people with uncompromising values.

The standard 5-speed transmission enables you to shift gears smoothly with a minimum of effort. You also have the option of choosing a 4-speed electronically controlled automatic for your Mazda MX-3 Precidia.

For the MX-3 Precidia GS, Mazda engineers ignored traditional space limitations and designed a 1.8 litre, 128-horsepower 24-valve V6 that fits neatly under the MX-3 Precidia's low hood line. It's a "world's first," a compact dual-overhead-cam powerplant with a two-piece aluminum black, each half specially reinforced The block is extraordinarily rigid and free from vibration, yet retains the weight advantages of aluminum. Multiport electronic fuel injection teams with a 3-stage Variable Resonance Induction System (VRIS) to provide a supercharging effect without the supercharger.

The patented Mazda Twin Trapezoidal Link (TTL) independent rear suspension works to deliver some of the benefits of 4-wheel steering, such as quick response when you change lanes or turn corners, but does it without added weight, complexity or cost. TTL automatically maintains the best alignment of the rear tires to the road surface, improving both stability and agility.
