wed at the track was bad
the slicks are to tall, my n2o was low my best 60ft was a 2.049
hit the n2o in fist and the slick broke out hit the rev limiter , flames shot out of the hood and 3' out the tail pipe. I thought I blew the motor , instead the flex pipe on the intake blew out cause of a manifold backfire.

can't get the slicks hot enough on burnout it just drags the car around. so I may stay with the drag radials for now and work on a bigger shot combo
maybe later use shorter slick and try it again.

You are lucky that you are ok. One of the Miata guys did a dyno run with JRS and a 75 shot, completely blew the manifold into pieces. The guy operating the dyno had to get rushed to the hospital due to lacerations. There was pretty much nothing left above the block all due to a n2o backfire.

Re: wed at the track was bad
it was a big back fire. I thought at first that one of the heads had blown off, a big bang , flash and flame from under the hood .
I would have been entertained to watch me run too bad I was too busy trying to get some kind of a run in.
has anyone run slicks? do they grab well but break out bad ? I was spinning in second and that should't happen.
the slick was a 26.5 X 8.5 X 14
my best time was
rt .616
60ft 2.123
330 5.901
1/8 8.880 @ 83.2
1000 11.463
1/4 13.672 @ 101.58
anyway next wed I'll try again , weather permitting

Re: wed at the track was bad
That doesnt sound to great for slicks.. yeah i doubt you got them hot enough.. Be sure you have someone spray a good sum of water into the pit so you can do a good burnout.
