spongy brakes and clutch problems

Post by Jesse »

How do you know that you need a new clutch? I bought my mx-3 used and the clutch catches but there doesn't seem to be a lot of power. Does it just need to be adjusted or does it need replacing? Also, I'm at the end of my knowledge of what to do with the brakes. I just replaced the front rotors, the front and rear brakes pads, bleed the lines numerous times and had one brake caliper replaced and still the brakes are spongy eventhough the hand brake is tight, probably too tight. What else is there? the master cylinder looks new, maybe the other caliper or brake booster?

You know you need a new clucth when your transmission is slipping in or when shifting gears. If you bought an RS.. 4cl.. they have a base of 105hp. Thats not alot.

------------------
Barry Clark
Moderator
1995 Mazda Mx-3 RS
Chaste White
barrykclark.com
custommx3@usa.net
