whats wrong with my GS???????????URGENT

saturday night, i was driving on the highway at about 150km/h, when all of a sudden i hear a loud noise and vibration and it was as if the gear was in neutral (manual).The car is undriveable since the gears wont go into place (i remove my foot of the clutch and it wont move)(had to tow it) i have a feeling its the gearbox)didnt have to time to take it to the mechanic yet.what do you think?and how much to expect it to cost?<p>[ December 10, 2002: Message edited by: chad ]

when you say <BR>" remove my foot of the clutch and it wont move"<BR>Do you mean the clutch pedal or the car?"<P>If it wont go into gear, does it feel like the shifter is loose at all?<BR>It could be a shifter linkage if so.

meant the car, its as if the gear is in neutral at all times. (as if the gear is not connected to the engine).<BR>hope that explains it enough....<BR>i repeat, ANY INFO U CAN GIVE ME IS GREAT!<p>[ December 10, 2002: Message edited by: chad ]

chances are your spider gears are gone. just ripped my trany apart today and mine were almost shot too. gotta see if i can get some from mazda or anywhere or if i will have to replace the whole trany
