kulluminati777 - 1993 マツダスピード MX-3 You will be missed

Post by kulluminati777 »

Howdy fellow mx3 brothers and sisters. I have been really hesitant to start a work log because im not to much of a mechanic. So this is going to be a gallery/worklog to show you guys why I have dubbed my baby as the "Unofficial" mazdaspeed mx-3.The funny thing about the mx3 is that i bought it for my wife and it is her car ( I own a 1993 MX-6) but I am always adding new stuff and trying to keep it tip top as if it was mine lmfao and I believe it´s a great car with tons of potential. I dont know if i´m the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th owner or any history on the car. After me and my wife had got engaged in 2008 I wanted to get her a car so we looked at a few. Something small yet nice was what she was looking for and me already being a mazda man I suggested the mx-5.

She had told me it was nice but way to small for her taste. So I did my research and found about the MX-3...I NEVER even noticed or heard of these cars at all before i had looked around Mazda's repertoire. I instantly fell in love and started to search a online used car site. I found this black 1993 GS with about 200kms away from where we were stationed and it was already American specs (I'm in Germany) so we went out to see the car and the body and interior were in ok shape but the engine looked like a-- lol. We bought it for 900 euro (about $1100) and that is that.

EDIT*
AS of 2013 the car is ALL mine and i no longer own a MX6.......sh*t just got real.... 8)

my pics start from back in the day to most recent so enjoy my progress through the few years i have had it.

We have all seen stock GS's so i wont bore you with the classic stock lmfao that and i didnt really have a camera when i got it or even think of taking pics during certain mods before lol but this was my first order of business the tail lights and i had to put a modern mazda symbol on the front and back for a few reasons, so people would stop asking what make my car was and give it a more modern look that and i just like the newer emblem better then the old flame one anyway

Image

I got my car a little before the projectors came out and wow my headlights where so YELLOW and i refused to have honda merchandise (civic projector mod) anywhere near my baby so we didn't drive at night too many times i mean i tried to polish them but it didn't work. Then i tried to find a German mx-3 glass headlights at a junk yard or something but wow they are no where to be found. Since i have owned the car i have literally been to 26 different junk yards around Germany and no mx-3s to be found :( but once the projectors came out it was around tax time so rims and those where put on immediately!!!!!!!!!!!......wow what a difference at night to yellow dim light to a normal headlight lol

i made the hoodzy CAI and I kind of did a whole suspension thing at once. i got a SRD replica crossmember and rear tie bar also front and rear strut braces were added as well...coilovers came later i think i may buy a whiteline sway bar but im not really a racing quack...just a guy who want the best of the best when it comes to my  (my wife's) mx-3

Image

I only got the rear tie bar for looks because i already had a pretty solid one on seeing as i had a GS and all but i have no regrets

Image

my first mazdaspeed part was the corksport replica front bumper
out with the old
Image

and in with the new. Fits a little weird and not right but I still like the look the corksport front gives.Maybe ill get it fixed later on :)

My front strut bar and my 2nd k8 its in alot better condition then the first one... i would of put a klze in when i blew the first old american k8 doing 230km on the autobahn for a few hours 8) but i couldnt get my hands on one and we found this k8 from a 97 with about 120000 on it so i thought ill just wait until i get back to the states to search for a klze

A replica can't be an official authentic item. It's official or it's not. There are official MS Mx-3's out there, those are the official ones. We can only aspire to replicate it as best and as close as possible.
