Does anyone know whether i would be able to turbocharge this engine? it is apparently exactly the same as the B6 and B6T just with a shorter stroke is this correct??? if it is would a 323 mani with a turbo fit this engine???

Not shorter stoke, otherwise it would make it a smaller engine. Basically the same, but forged internals and lower compression. It's a possible project, the hard part is usually sourcing the B6T turbo parts. Look into cjthor, he turbo'd his with good success

any engine can be boosted. The hardware is the easy part. The b5 is said to be a boost friendly engine. What year is it? Is It OBDI OR II? That might be your main issue.

Can it be done? Yes. But what do you expect to get out of your car?

I can't help with your wiring as I have no idea what/if any differences there are. AFAIK, they should be very close if not the same. Go online and do a parts number comparison with a b6 and b5 exhaust gasket. If they are the same, that's half the battle. Now you only need a bunch of $ and a fair ammount of down time to get it all done.

Yeah, the B6T manifold will fit onto a B5.

Where are you located? UK?

Ok so ive found somebody that knows a little bit about turbos and he is going to install one for me :). we are going to use a Mazda GTX 1.8 DOHC manifold and turbo because according to him it bolts straight on, i will post again when it is installed and we have tuned it, looking forward to the result as i havnt seen this done on a b5 before :)

please keep in mind that you may need new injectors, boost control, engine management, clutch, fuel pump and a wideband AFR guage. Just because a turbo can be bolted on, doesn't mean that is all you have to do.

Sorry if that seems like I'm talking down to you, but I have no idea what your background is.

Good to read man.

Here is my log.

There may be part numbers that you'll need (such as oil fittings and what not)

Best of luck and enjoy the boost.
