has anyone ever herd of this? i was just browsing craigslist and came across an add. supposedly it can repair the worst scratched up paint jobs to a mirrored finish. im tempted to give it a try. i cant justify spending over $1000 on a new paint job for my beater

ad for cl says $400 for a standard size car. a video i watched of the founder being interviewed said around $250 a car so who knows... the guy owned a bunch of used car dealerships and invented this with a chemist as a cheap way to refinish used cars without repainting.

apparently its a clear coat that makes a chemical reaction with the paint, compared to regular clear coats that make a physical reaction. it supposedly slightly melts the top layer of paint then self levels to fill in scrapes and even out the surface restoring the original finish.

from the sounds of it they completely clean off all the grease and wax off the finish then apply this clear coat let it sit for a couple of hours then they wax on top. supposed to age and be as durable as a new paint job.

my bday is coming up in the next couple of weeks and my gf has been looking for something to get me. if i go threw with it ill take a tun of before and after pics.

Just use a light grade polishing compound. A wax with a cleaner in it can also be used for light chaulking sitcheations. If you have that white edging from your clearcoat flaking off then your basically scr*wed.

It looks like a typical clear coat. You could go to a shop, and have them cover the car in clear for less $$.
If it's not fake, that car has very light oxidation that can be buffed out. Then you clear coat it.
When ads like that talk about deep scratches, they're talking about only ones that don't get through the paint

you can't apply clear coat with a sponge and it won't just magically flow out.
