Hidden in a garage for the past five years RIGHT HERE IN MS.
Re: Hidden in a garage for the past five years RIGHT HERE IN
That car just need a little TLC. Ya so remove the plugs and oil each cylinder then turn the motor over for periods of like 10 secs waiting a minute between so you don't pooch the starter then on top of lubricating the internals in a no load situation the oil pressure will be right there when you do fire it up. Look to taking the brake pistons out and installing a rebuild kit. Flush the power steering fluid and replace the coolant soonest. Oh ya, open the brake bleed nipples (love that word) and let the brake fluid run through while topping up the reservoir with fresh DOT3 fluid.

Wow great find really. Do as Daninski said with the motor though, it will make sure you do not damage it while trying to get it started again.
An a note for all of you; do this same thing with all motors that have been sitting- like ZE or DE swaps
GL with it and if I were closer I would gladly help, but MS is a bit too far from Atlanta for me to make a trip.

Re: Hidden in a garage for the past five years RIGHT HERE IN
I have a problem.... I tried to get the car towed today and the wife of the retired man
who contacted me about the car.. is having second thoughts. She wouldnt let
the tow guy get the car. This is ALL via the tow guy: The car had not been pushed
outside of the second garage yet and the lawn equiptment was still in the way.
She says the car was a gift from her husband to her and she should be the one
to pick what happends to it. She wanted it to go to a charity from the beginning.
Keep in mind i have paid and have a bill of sale. Title is signed and in the car.
I'am freakin out cuz i have emailed him and called, but he has NOT responded.
This must be causing him lots of friction at home with his old lady.
We have already made a deal, but i dont want to cause a problem for someone.
Im all torn in half now... I guess i have to give him the time to talk to her
or give her time to calm down..... im just ready NOW! NOW! NOW!
I guess i pushed to hard to finish the deal and complete the sale and set up a tow.
Now look.... I thought i was being efficient.

Update: The "Man" emailed me just now and said his wife is just having
some trouble letting go and asked that i please give her a couple a days before i remove the car.
He will contact me tomorrow some time to make new arrangements, date & time for towing.
(sheesh... thank goodness... I was getting nervous.)

Re: Hidden in a garage for the past five years RIGHT HERE IN
Ask the police to meet you at the house so you can remove your property. As far as his wife goes that's between him and her. Now if he wants to buy it back off you then expenses plus would be a good starting point. IMO I bought a car last year off a girl who tried to jerk me around like this and it turns out she was in the habit of screwing a lot of people around. So I guess I have no tolerence for this lind of crap. Call me heartless if you want but that cars been sitting there for how long? Now she's suddenly concerned. Bullsh*t I say.
Anyway I just read your response but since I'd already written this I let it stand. Cheers and congrats on your purchase
