ok so i ordered a bp finally and im probably going to rebuild it from the pan up
Ive been looking around protege and miata forums and wiesco pistons/rods seem to be the most popular but ouch
does anyone know of any forged internals that are worthwhile and easy on the pocket?
btw im shooting for about 12lbs of boost (t3/t4) but i want the engine to be able to handle over 25lbs in case i decide to crank it up

This might help. The stock BP should be good to 250hp daily driven from what I understand.
Straight from Wiki:
The 1.8 L (1839 cc) BP is a dual-overhead variant of the B8. It was first found in the 1989 Mazda Familia and American-market 1990 Mazda Protege LX. This engine was dubbed BP-ZE and featured a forged crankshaft, piston oil squirters, an aluminum baffled oil pan, and Variable Inertia Charging System (VICS).
I would suggest that if you are going to turbo, remove the VICS. Mazda did on the BPT, and they did it for a reason.
