Isn't there a little c-clip in there holding it in the grease pocket ?
When I swapped the ones out of my Subaru XT6, I pulled everything off the front end to get the damn CV out but it endd up having a little c-clipd holding it in which is stronger than I was lol.

i put a crowbar on one side and hit the other side with a hammer...out of my entire engine swap CV axles were the biggest pain.

I pulled mine by tieing two ropes behind the joint closest to the transaxle and running one around the right side and one around the left side of the joint, tieing them to a bar and jerking. Oh so rigged but it did work. This of course was after spending a couple of hours cutting the axle bolts off the end with a dremel....

I actually did my on Saturday... I did what limegreen MX-3 did.

Take the battery out and the tray it sits in... slide a crowbar or screwdriver from the top. Get someone to crawl underneath and do the same... give it the 1, 2, 3, PUSH!

I used one of those fork tools, you use for the ball joint. Just get a part of it behind the axle end, and bang it with a hammer, and it'll come right out.
