My friend loves these cars also  He's owned a 96 talon GST the FWD turbo, and after all the tunin he's done he's pushin 300hp and FWD is not doin it for him. He just found an amazing buy on a 95 TSI, he's expecting to push that up to 400hp.

IF you can find one that is in good condition they are amazing cars. The problem is they are getting less and less so finding one that hasnt been beat to piss or riced out is a problem. I think their pretty amazing cars. I realy like the second gens, the first gens are nice, but then they nocked out the talon and made the 3'rd and 4'th gen eclipses they lost it.

There are quite alot across Canada for sale ... but most of them are automatics and those ones are cheaper in price

Who wants an automatic anyways. In a sports car...geesh.

I know eclipse uses the GSX for AWD turbo and GST for FWD turbo, but he's deffinatly got two talons and one of them is only FWD

http://korndogg.bounceme.net/winter.jpg

there a picture he took of them whe he got them home.

The white one with the huge FMIC is FWD and you can see the talon symbol on the nose, the black one is AWD. Im not sure what the wording for a FWD turbo talon is...

a good message board like mx-3.com for the talon is http://www.dsmtuners.com/

if you wish to spend a LOT of money replacing every drivetrain-related part, then go for it :).

They are badass cars if they are in good condition & have been maintained, but about 90% of them haven't been.

The talon is based on the Mitsubishi VR4 / Evo O drive line and
2.0 4G63 motor.

can be built into a reliable 10sec package and make 800hp.
Add lot's off dollars to that statement.

Anyway get a T05 turbo and the turbo issues go away, throw
out the balance shafts as thats the first belt to break and go up
through the timming belt and voila one das karput donk.

Con's yea god's don't even think about a gearbox rebuild EKKK!!!!
not cheap and you need a seriuos clutch in them as the factory
one sucks!!!!

Having said all that if you ever find a one owner granny one
snap it up as they are a weapon with the right mod's.

Ya hes awesome! I saw him run @ NOPI last year. OMG his car is fast.
The coolest thing is he makes alot of his own parts, and sells them, so tuners can upgrade the factory faulty parts.
