Not only is the electrical system a nightmare on these cars, but the engine and drivetrain can be a bit of a challenge to work with. Its a really nice ride, but if you think parts for your mx-3 are expensive... As far as working on them, in general its like any other car, but if it has electrical, braking or drive train problems, i'd pass on it.

If you were closer I'd say bring it to my house to work on stuff. I know how to do just about anything on a VW or Audi. Once you know the common tools needed your set! I still have a love for the germans. My buddies new corrado 1.8T isn't helping either. I miss my rabbit :(

We have two Audi 5000S's in out backyard that have been sitting ther for 2 yrs because one has a blown engine one has a bad wiring harness and I don't want to swap engines. Just look at it, The Wiring/engine complications are way more complex!

Agreed, electrical on an Audi is a nightmare. It almost as if they made it more complex on purpose. Even changing out a simple car radio is a huge job. Theres factory amps that need to be bypassed and strange ohm load speakers. Its more complicated than it should be. Not bashing Audi, just a heads up for those that like the DIY approach.

Going by the pics I'd say that's a damn fine deal. I'm sure that if you floated between $2,000 and $2,200 in front of him, he'd take it. Looks in pretty darn good shape though. The other posts are quite true, Having owned numerous Japanese cars, British car and an Italian car it's quite true that not only are they complicated meaning it's not a fairly simple car for the average DIY'. Qualified mechanics for Audi's are not cheep and neither are Audi parts. If your willing to take on that responsibility, then like I said, snap it up. I wonder if thay have a BB for Audi's too.....LOL

THERE IS NOTHING AND I MEAN NOTHING SIMPLE ABOUT GERMAN CARS!!!

VW, AUDI, BMW, Mercedes have the most complicated (electrical, engine, suspension, everything) setup. I work at a dealership and from time to time we get these cars, it takes 1 hour to figure out how to take the seats out, and another hour to actually take it out..

save your cash.
