basically war driving is driving around looking for open wireless networks, which is commonly done using a laptop computer, a wireless card with an external/more powerful antenna, and the netstumbler.com software. It can also be done using a CarPC type system (like myself...i've wardriven a few times), which i belive is what monty is trying to do

War driving evolved from the term "war dialing", which was to randomly dial phone numbers with your computer modem and see if you could find a computer on the other end. War dialing got it's game when the main character from the movie "War Games" (1983) used that technique to (accidentally) find a miliary computer.

In this case, you can use a video switch box, and just get a audio splitter.

problem is, your going to get audio from all sources @ once if they are turned on.

Are you using a car PC?

My car PC has audio comming from the C sraight to an amp. If your using a PC, you can use the Line in as a audio input as well as the Mic could probably be used as an audio input.

Doesnt have to broadcast to be wireless.. The wireless card in my laptop sends the signal to my wireless router.. its then authenticated via WEP and MAC address. If you allow your wireless router to broadcast even with WEP or MAC address lock downs.. you are still allowing "War Drivers" to see that you have a wireless network at all.
