RX7 Comin back?

Post by cjthor »

Anyone else heard about this? Read it on I think this board and on a bimmer board. Guess it all has to do with RX8 sales..

As far as i know the rx-8 is kinda replacing the rx-7? Theres no point in having to high-end sport cars in production.

I hear that if the RX-8 does well, then Mazda will reintroduce a rotary sports coupe to North America. Just rumour at this stage though...

I used to know alot about MX-3's, but not so much anymore. Oh well.

Although I don't really like their "zoom, zoom" marketing campaigns they are effective, so I think Mazda could probably market the RX-7 better if it was re-introduced here.
Now only if Mazda could make a new MX-3 to compete with the RSX.

I doubt they will bring the current RX-7 back here as it ends production overseas right away. With all the effort Mazda is putting into racing I would anticipate at the very least a high powered miata. Mazda has teamed up with FM for 3 concept Miatae and one P5 already.

I red a while ago that mazda's is to be releasing 6 new cars in the near future, all based on the sports car idea starting with the new mazdaspeed Protege ans so on...
so in any case the posability of a new RX-7 is always there. :)

I don't know if you guys heard yet but in europe they are releasing a turbocharged Mazda 6. I hope they bring the turbo version here to the states. It would be nice to see the RX-7 comeback, but I highly doubt they will bring it back here to the states. Maybe they will release some other type of rotary powered car if the RX-8 does well in sales.

Miata hardtop... saw pictures of it... looks almost like an RX7... its basically a hatch/coupe version of the miata... not sure what engine is going in it... Has the BP miata done its time and they're going to move to a Rotary?
I understood rotaries to be bad on fuel and poor emissions. Have the improved despite their lack of presence in the market?
