just a thought on RWD MX-3

Post by Spydie »

so I ws watching monster garage the other day and it was the one where they had to make an ambulance pop a wheelie.
I was wondering if anyone thinks there could be a way of using a V-drive to convert the MX into RWD. It would have to be more of an L-drive I immagine, and I realize this question is in a vague form but....it's like 4am so BACK OFF!!!!

an l-angle wuld be like, what, 90 degrees or so? that'd be too extreme of a driveshaft angle for it to even spin fast enough to idle.

i guess it depends, just a though, the 4cyl mx-3 uses the same engine as a Miata, which is RWD...unless the engine on the Miata is turned 90* compared to the mx-3's, it should be possible...but a v6 mx-3 on the otherhand, i have no idea

is it possible to throw in a rotary drivetrain. I think the mx3 has a place for driveshaft does it not. This should be possible. Is the rear frame strong enough? What mods would need to be done. I know you would probably need engine, ecu, tranny, rearend, but what else would need to be done. peace

I don't actually care about making a RWD mx3....that was not the topic really. My question was actually about V-drive application....or L-drive really. It has been answered.
