Ordering parts for the ZE

Post by basil_75 »

When I'm ordering aftermarket parts for the ZE, what parts am I going to have to let them know (whatever company) that it's for the ZE and not the 1.8? Thanks.

So you want a list of every single part under the engine and which are KL or K8 specific?

ok, let's see....every part..yeah that would be great. But since that will just make all these wonderful people on here cranky, I'll leave it at the simple bolt-ons..(header, pulleys, cam gears...those type of bolt ons) I know some parts are interchangeable but for instance, if I order the underdrive pulley for the 1.8 to put on the ZE, am I sacrificing power and yes, every little bit is gonna help.
I'm not a mechanic, that's why I asked the question.
Ryan- Thank you for not being sarcastic and actually answering.

In defense of David, your question WAS pretty vague. It takes time to respond to someone's questions, so you need to communicate EXACTLY what you want. If you want to see more hostile responses from moderators then I suggest you check out the probetalk forum. Your question would have been quickly killed by a moderator there.
The moderators on this board are WAY more lenient!!
Since your response was specific then you'll get a more specific answer.
I believe the 2.5L U.O. underdrive pulley has a different part number than the 1.8, order the 2.5. Intake gaskets? Order Millenia.

Despite you being a fool, I will answer your specific questions.
-UDP = either will work, KL or K8
-Headers = MX-3 specific, KL headers are for a PGT/MX-6 which has different clearances underhood
-Cam Gears = dont exist.
Ask specific questions, get specific answers
