Marcos Alcosta dropped in a 20B TT from an RX-7/ Converted it to RWD. your biggest issue may be a tranny. How in the world would u set that up?

well i have heard of it. there is a guy that owns a Tiburon that did that but he used to I-4 motors. both were turbo charged and both ran on methian. the car was an automatic. he had two trannies hooked up to the auto stick. he ran like a 10 sec 1/4. he was in a ultimate street car challenge SSC held 2 years ago. i still have that issue. his hatch glass was fiberglass and painted black.

To answer your first question....no, it is illegal to not be able to see out the back.
If you block that area off and negate the use of a mirror, then you need to install a video camera and project the image onto a monitor in or around the same area the mirror was.
There are lots of ways to do this as well, and fairly cost effective too.
~A

???? And you know this why? In California you can legally block out the rear windows if you have both side view mirrors. This is the case for most camper trucks and such...Also what about diesel trucks? They dont have rear views ;)

Agreed. In Utah I know you can tint the rear to 0% if you want to. They even sell stickers that are custom fit on your car's rear window that have goofy little cartoons on them. (gay, but it's helps prove the point)
I'm wondering why he wants to put this V8 in the hatch. Why not put it in the engine bay and convert to RWD? It's gunna be hell trying to figure out how to make them run with a RWD tranny and still be able to steer correctly.

you can strap a 5.0 in a miata. With cash, there's no reason you cant do the same to an mx.

Reasons for no view of rear:
Diesel truck
Camper special
Car towin a trailer
Pickup with junk in the bed
Some van conversions have no rear window

An engine in the boot would look soo cool, how about a louvered, perspex rear window, Ferrari F40 style, no sense spending all that money without showing it off!
