mx3 twin turbo

Post by jordan69 »

well it turns out i was talking to my uncle the other day and he bought an MX3 when it first came out around 94-95, he got the GS model painted creek blue mica, and he took it to the mazda dealership soon after and got mazda to install twin turbos on his GS, they installed the entire system and even did some engine work for 3500 bucks, thats a hell of a deal, and he said it went like snot, he doesnt have the car anymore but if anyone bought one like that in alberta or canada, u might have one of the first twin turbo mx's around.

This thread is a waste without pics. Get them and I'll send you cookies.

I'll ask the mazda dealership on tuesday since i work there. Highly doubtful though because they won't even go near a ze mx-3 because its not the original motor.....but we'll see.

heres the thing....

NO dealership is willing to do any performance modifications to ANY car. Why? because it voids the manufacturers warranty. Why do we think your uncle is feeding you BS? Because its unpractical to consider putting a TT on the mx3. I have a couple of questions for you to ask your uncle however that may help the story....

First: where were the turbos put? if you look under the hood of ANY GS model I'd beg you to find some room for this. Without major engine bay modifications (battery relocation, Windshield washer bottle removal, etc...) there simply isnt any room. With all the modifications, I highly doubt a dealership would charge $3500 CANADIAN to do this work, its simply not good business practice to do work so cheap it costs them money.

Second: You mentioned he bought an MX3 when it first came out in 94-95. This points to another bit of misinformation. The mx3 was first sold as the 1992 model here in canada, so seeing as you're 2-3 years off the first mx points to a whopper of a turd.

Now you can see where we come from when we tell you your uncle is feeding you a big ole' cow patty. Maybe you should go ask your uncle about this because theres a whole community that knows better.

Don't take this as a personal assualt...and no we're not hating....

But lets face it....NO TWIN TURBO....ESPECIALLY PUT IN BY THE DEALERSHIP....

...Can we please get this topic closed....or do people really want me ask for sure at work tommorow....to put this to rest.

i said when it first came out in 94-95 cuz i meant the newer style mx3, NOT the 92-93 model, and he isnt full of BS because he didnt tell me first, my dad had mentioned that he had got it done, i knew he had an mx3 cuz i rode in it when i was like 8 or 9 years old, and i still remember, and then my dad mentioned that he had got it turboed, and i asked him about it and he told me a little about it, so for all you who still dont believe me, i will find out more info.
