They were meant ot run at those temps and nothing but a mechanical fix will drop the temps. However, dropping the temps will only drop the performance since the ECU is set to run in a certian predetermined range. Unless you have some sort of engine management don't bother.

Hmm....You think this would work?

If you somehow intergrated a heatsink(sp?) or cooling fins into the hood of an MX-3 would it help our car's underhood heat problem?

Would this coupled with a scooped hood keep our under hood tempetures to a minimum and cold air to a maxium or is this just a stupid suggestion? It could be made ...

I had this same problem while replacing the bushing on my shift linkage, and solved it just how Pat said. LOTS OF WD-40! :D Also find a small hammer or use the handle end of a screwdriver and hit it if you have to.... took me lots of repeated hitting to get it out so just keep tryin till ya get it
