Re: Are There any NC mx-ers on here?

My parents live in Currituck, NC, about 45 minutes south of Norfolk, VA. I'd be willing to meet up during the summer.

Re: Do MX-3's have governors?

I don't think they have a rev limiter. When I was playin around in the engine and revved, the throttle cable got stuck..scared the hell out of me...but I spun the tach all the way around and there was no sign of a RL so I don't think there is one.

Re: mazda junkyard

Hey man, it's called MazMart. Be careful, they are expensive as hell and stopped bringing in MX-3 parts late last year. You might wanna check car-parts.com and run a search to make some calls first. The number for mazmart is 1-800-221-5156

Re: Aftermarket Headlight Assembly

Actually, a small buffer and some plastic polish will get rid of the yellow discoloration on the outside of the headlights. Just put in a little bit of time and they will shine up nice.

-Kevin

Re: KL-ZE w/corksport reprogrammed ecu

ok, I just got my swap done...well in and running. With the 1.8 ECU idle is rough, almost sounds like and old Nova but the power is still there. I'm assuming (at least what corksport said) that the idling and a gain **at the wheels** of 10-12 hp with the correct reprogrammed ECU.

Re: Homemade Cold Air intake?

I don't remember who's site it's on, but I did mine with a little bit of PVC piping, 2 3" rubber connectors and a filter. Only thing I never figured out was by disconnecting the hose that runs from the intake, what it was affecting. Just make sure when you do the intake, you put the air flow sensor ...

Re: Stand Alone Fuel Mangagment System

From what I understand, it gives you the ability to adjust fuel pressure, air/fuel, and I'm sure a few other things....I would probably wind up blowing up my car with one so I never looked it up.

Re: Ordering parts for the ZE

ok, let's see....every part..yeah that would be great. But since that will just make all these wonderful people on here cranky, I'll leave it at the simple bolt-ons..(header, pulleys, cam gears...those type of bolt ons) I know some parts are interchangeable but for instance, if I order the ...

Ordering parts for the ZE

When I'm ordering aftermarket parts for the ZE, what parts am I going to have to let them know (whatever company) that it's for the ZE and not the 1.8? Thanks.

Re: Stand Alone Fuel Mangagment System

I would have to say once you have highly modded the car, the FMS would be useful, but for all practical purposes, I woul consider it a waste of money.

Re: StreetImports.com

I just got my ZE from Street Imports. Came in good condition....little rough around the edges as far as how they cut things, but all in all, a good deal. Make sure you let them know you are putting it in an MX so they can send you the right manifold though.
