If it does I had no luck finding it. I could only find one broad overview that indirectly showed me what the linkage looked like.mitmaks wrote:does online manual show you linkage system/parts, might check with manual.

Re: So what did I break now? - hard to shift
Friday night I spent about 2 and a half hours working on this thing. The joint where the shifter attaches to the linkage under the floor pan was still together. It looks like it used to have a bushing of some kind but it was just the linkage on a bare shoulder bolt. I took it apart and cleaned out a ...

Re: So what did I break now? - hard to shift
Get some jack stands and get underneath it. I'd inspect trans fluid also. how many miles on clutch/trans?>
Clutch has always felt solid, but don't know if/when it was replaced before I got it. I assume the tranny is original with 125,000 miles or so. Only problem prior to now was having to bump ...

next time don't pick on diesels lol :) Seriously with a chip and exhaust most diesels will beat slightly tuned mx-3 any day.
I did think it was funny that I ripped through first gear, boogered the tranny, and finally found 2nd as I was taking a ramp onto the interstate when he finally passed me ...

So what did I break now? - hard to shift
Car: 1995 Mazda MX-3 RS DOHC I4 with 5 speed.
Long story short, I porked something. I just got my car back Friday after being parted for almost a month, then drove it to get pizza tonight. So I pull up to a light next to a big diesel pickup that'd be driving like a jackass through town. Not to be ...

Re: Car dies when hot, won't restart.
Is the idle bouncing around on you after the car has warmed up and you have your foot on the brakes?
I have had this problem since we got the car almost 4 years ago and cannot track down the problem. Minus the bad Coolant Temp Sensor everything else seems to be working fine.
It did that once ...

Re: Car dies when hot, won't restart.
Next time it doesn't fire up after it is warm, just try disconnecting the Coolant Temp Sensor. If the sensor is bad, having it unplugged should allow the car to turn over right away, best part it's free to test :)
Well, it actually hasn't done that since the new distributor. At this point I'm ...

Re: Car dies when hot, won't restart.
I had the exact same problem as you and for me it turned out to be a bad Coolant Temperature Sensor. I would start the car when it was cold and it would run fine, then after warming up it would either just shut down in the middle of the road or not start again till the engine was stone cold. I ...

well, just got done reading the faq, and it seems like the one post that would have given me the most info, doesnt have the info anymore. the interchangeability post. i was at junkyard today and notice a few of what i believe were B series motors. i even glanced at a mazda v6, 2.5 i believe. id ...

Re: Idle drops when clutch disengaged
Sounds backwards to me too. I'll chuck a random and invented theory at you just for fun.
The ECM compensates against load at idle. If you turn enough shyte on, the load is enough to decrease the idle below an acceptable threshold. The engine bumps it up a notch to get you back into a good range ...

Idle drops when clutch disengaged
I apologize if this was covered somewhere, but I couldn't find it. I'm having some idle issues, nothing that keeps the car from getting around, but I just had a simple question. The car can be sitting still and idling fine in neutral with the clutch engaged (foot off the pedal). When I push in the ...

Re: Broken Rear Window
Sorry for the old thread revival, but I can't help but chime in. All I'm going to say is that if I had a spare hatch with no glass I'd be working on building a solid decklid style hatch with a small, vertical window. Something like a Del Sol, but fixed in place for fab's sake. That just looks sweet ...

Good call on DQ. Maybe my MX3 is vegan.Savin wrote:Still sounds sorta fuel related.
Just as a heads up, if MAC donalds gave you this problem, avoid Dairy Queen's drive thru, Your timing belt might snap.

Re: Car dies when hot, won't restart.
Just wanted to come back with an update while I was thinking about it. My buddy advanced the timing and drove it a few different times and said he never had a problem. I picked the car up Saturday since my daily driver is on it's last leg so to speak. Saturday it drove great. Sunday we got some rain ...

Re: Car dies when hot, won't restart.
I passed the cumulative list on to my buddy and before he even got around to checking anything he remembered that when he owned the car he ran the timing advanced a few degrees or at times it'd spit and sputter. He advanced the timing and drove it a while and never had any trouble. I haven't had ...
