Irratic/low idle

Well for the past year I've been slowing working on getting my car in good condition after the horrible condition I recieved it in. On wednesday night I took in on trip that was 1 1/2 hours drive one way. Most I'd driven it til that point was about 30-40 mins. During the trip I started having an ...

While I replaced both outer tie rods about 3 weeks ago I haven't been able to afford and alignment til now and it still felt like something was loose or bad. Sadly I was too right. I took it to the local Midas which has always treated me well and found the horror I've gotten myself into. They even ...

I put a stock clutch in from a local auto parts store. It's working just fine for me but my car is also completely stock. For the stock hp the oem clutch is fine but if you intend to mod the car to squeeze more power out of it you'll want something stronger. I plan to mod my car but needed to get it ...

I did it, no hoist, plenty of jacks and jack stands, and weak air tools. Time consuming? Hell yeah. Complicated? Not really. However doing it solo I don't recommend. I messed up my ribs wrestling the tranny solo but got it done nonetheless. However if the car has never had any of those things apart ...

Well when I took it for the alignment they wouldn't do it. They told me both outer tie rods moved up/down and side to side so that is most likely the culprit for the vibration. I've ordered 2 new outer tie rods and am installing them tommorow night.

Today I got a chance to listen with the passenger window open while driving in town. The sound I heard kinda sounded like wheel bearing however in the past I haven't known bad bearings to cause a vibration like this. In my sentra they weren't just worn, the rings were broken in pieces even and it ...

Not sure about the reverse lights but the park/neutral switch you refered to is the neutral safety switch. When pressing the pedal it hits it and allows the car to start. There may be a write up somewhere about how to hook it up.

can't really say. she needs an alignment badly and I just put a new clutch in her so I haven't pushed it at all. I've got another 450 miles before I'll venture over 4k rpms(clutch break-in). Once I get a few of the issues worked out I'll play around some

loud whine/vibration in front end

I just got my car on the road and one thing I've noticed is as I go up in speed I hear a whine/vibration from the front end that gets louder the faster I go. From the drivers seat I hear it like it's somewhere in the front end but my friend riding in the passenger seat was sure it was coming from ...

shifter has alot of play

I just got my car back together today and drove it for the first time. And one thing I've noticed is while in gear the shifter has alot of play. Like in 5th I can easily wiggle it back and forth far enough that it appears to be in 3rd or clost to 1st. Obviously it won't shift gears like that but I ...

i replaced everything when i replaced the disty. cap and all. i would think it was it too, but it doesnt feel like the timing is off, or anything like that. does a bad disty cause this lose of power?

A failing disty doesn't throw the timing off. It merely provides the current to the spark plugs ...

It's on the road

Well after having the car out of comission ever since getting it my mx-3 GS is on the road. I've found a few issues however I'll leave them in the appropriate forums. But I am definately happy to be able to say I now "drive" an mx-3. And these forums were a large help in getting it driving, and I'd ...
