Irratic/low idle

Well for the past year I've been slowing working on getting my car in good condition after the horrible condition I recieved it in. On wednesday night I took in on trip that was 1 1/2 hours drive one way. Most I'd driven it til that point was about 30-40 mins. During the trip I started having an issue with the idle that I've never had before. Coming up to a stop after fully warmed up when I'd disengage the clutch the rpm's would dive and sometimes it's stall out and other times the rpms would bounce around low til it'd stall or it'd level out after a bit at around 600 rpms. Since the trip this has been an ongoing issue when the car is warm. It runs fine while driving. Just has issues at idle. I replaced spark plugs last night thinking that may be part of it as they looked like they'd been in there for 100k miles. Sadly it didn't fix it. As soon as I can afford to I plan to replace the spark plug wires, disty cap and rotor. Any suggestions? I'm thinking possibly IACV. Atfirst I thought maybe the MAF but from what i know of them, it wouldn't go above idle if that were bad.

i'm having similar issues with my car... idling low/ rough. i have had some experience with a bad iac, & an easy test is with the ac. turn it on. when the compressor comes on the rpms should stay the same... if the iac is malfunctioning they will drop. i opened up the iac screw and was able to get my car to idle higher, but it started to idle really high out of gear (1500 rpm) & created an air leak that affected mpg. let me know what you come up with.
