anyways, i had to open it up to get rid of all the water. now how do i reseal? do i just heat it up and try to force the clear lens through the old sealant then add new sealant around the edges to get a complete seal? or do i have to get rid of all the old sealant and start from scratch? if so, what's the easiest way to remove the old sealant? it's sticky as heck.

hey. i've read through a bunch of old threads and all of which say to just reseal around the edge. my problem is that i had a lot of condensation to the point where a small pool of water was insiude the lens and i could not dry it out for the life of me.

What?
Dont open them up... they already have 4 holes in them for the rear lights.
Not to mention being sealed pretty crappily from the factory.
Take a hair-dryer and use heat/evaporation to remove the water after you have emptied as much as you can by trying to dump them out. You cn also try to roll up a paper towel and poke it in the tail light holes to try to get any rogue water drops.
After that, there are only a few spots you need to put some clear RTV sealant on, and thats where the plastic tabs of the lens interlock with the housing.
Thats all I did and mine have been leak free for 2 years.

the individual light sections in the housing are all sealed themselves. i tried to dry the main housing with a hair dryer for 1 hr constant and there was little to no evaporation. got them open fine and dried them fine, but now i need to reseal them.
