oil pan tapped to low, How bad?

Post by rsxero »

Now, I realize I tapped to low. I tapped a centemetre below the oil line. but doesn't the oil level drop when the car is running? How bad is it really?
Car is a 1994 mazda mx3 rs, B6 DOHC.

I would weld it up and tap higher. You dont want to have the oil back up and blow out your turbo seals.

they are, IIRC its something to due with the baffeling inside the pan, though the bolt pattern is the same i think.

also the b6t pan is deeper and the MX3 pan is more shallow due to using an intermediate pan.
