It's a 1994, with a bit of cosmetic damage. 1600 16V DOHC (B6D) and automatic transaxle.
I was in the process of rounding up a collection of Ford Festiva's from the estate of a guy who passed away and I was offered this car for a price so low I couldn't turn it down.
Since the Festiva cars were also Mazda engined (2 have B3's and one is hiding a B6T) I thought it would be good to keep all of my engine work "in the same family". Since then I really began to look at the car, especially it's shape, and one of my long time goals has been to put together a really nice coast-to-coast interstate highway road trip machine.
I dunno what I really think about the automatic tranny, I have always preferred to drive stick. But having done radar and electronics for 20 years in the military and seen how the servos and drivetrain controls in newer machines work, if it is in good shape I see no reason to swap it out.
Although I shall probably build a back-up unit in the event of failure.

PSONEDIT: I also own a 94 Suzuki Swift (awaiting a B6T), and a 1989 Ranger in the process of having a 351W stuffed into it. I do things like that...

Hey, welcome to the forums man! They're pretty much an archive of information anymore and not overly active. There are a few of us that like to stick around here for old times sake.
Yeah the Mazda B-series engine was used in a huge variety of cars around the world. I'm personally only experienced with the Escort GT, Protege, Tracer LTS and MX-3 versions (I like the bigger engines)
There should be a link or two in here about doing the automatic->manual gearbox swap. The information is here on the site.
Welcome to the group! I hope you find what you're looking for, or add information that isn't here yet!
