Why are you rebuilding the Master Cylinder? From my understanding it's more cost effective to just buy a remanufactured one then rebuild it with the exception of custom cars or 30+ year old cars.

I've rebuilt a few brake MSs and for the most part there's a couple of rubber O ring seals and that's it. You need to check that the MS cylinder walls aren't corroded because if they are your new seals won't seal so check that first. Why not advertise here in the [WTB] section. I'm sure a lot of us have spare master cylinders kicking around. Mooneggs probably has a least 3. :D

I've rebuilt a few too and it seems like the big thing is that the cost for replacing the springs and struts(if they need replacing) is what makes it cost ineffective. O rings are nothing to change out really, just gotta deal with the damn brake bleeding after.

That's why you prime it first before installing. Seems to help. I'll admit I haven't done one in years but I doubt much has changed in them.

Rockauto is for sure the place to go. I've spent a lot of money there so far.

This was one of the joys of having a 55' Ford Fairlane for my first car. I rebuilt every brake cylinder master and slave. I found it odd later on in life when you cannot buy rebuild kits for more modern cars. Then I discovered RockAuto It was love at first sight

Ok,

It's already hard to find a 1" millenia master cilinder, let alone stand a rebuild kit.
The gasket on it is broken and I want to replace to rings so it won't leak (lets say a preventive rebuild).
