93 Mx-3 SOHC transmission question

Post by crazdragoon »

Before I start, I have used the search option and found mixed opinions!

As stated above, I have a 93 Base model with the 1.6 I bought new in late 93. Finally at 341k miles the transmission went. I love this car to death and hate to get rid of it, the mpg is spectacular and its comfortable as all hell. My issue being there are no Mx-3s within 400 miles in the salvage yards. I need to know which cars have transmissions that are interchangable. I already have a new hydraulic system and clutch ready to install. I have already rebuilt the the engine for it to run tip top shape. Let's hope you guys can help me out on this one. I would really appreciate it.

First, this section is for engine related questions. Go here for transmissions http://www.mx-3.com/phpBB3/viewforum.php?f=30

The first post in that forum is for transmission swap information. http://www.mx-3.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=65792

The information you need is that any of the Mazda b-series engines have a transmission you can swap from.
Wings on an MX3? What are you thinking?
