Hey, the other day i went to go for a little rip around the block to see if i solved my ignition issue and realized my e-brake light doesnt like to shut off. i searched on here and it came up with the e-brake ground bouncing, so i checked my e-brake n made sure it wasnt bouncing or loose and i tried sticking my finger in the fluid to push around that little magnet or w.e thats at the bottom, didnt do anything. any other ideas on what this would be? crossing my fingers that my master cylinder isnt effed!

Um, open the master cyl reservoir and poke a screwdriver down in there. the float sometimes sticks at an angle and triggers the switch. also you could probably top up the fluid.

Many times that light comes on and stays on, means you're low on brake fluid. If you stuck your finger in it and didn't make a mess, you likely need to top it off.
Same thing happened to me years back in my rs, checked the cable and the switch inside the center console, seemed fine. I checked the brake fluid and needed to add a little, viola!, the light went back to operating as normal. I was relieved!
Mazda came up with a handy way to know when you're low on brake fluid.
Hope that's the case for you!

Additionally, brake fluid NEVER requires a top up.

It doesn't wear out, it doesn't evaporate, it doesn't leak out in a controlled manner. If your fluid is low, you need to look into your brakes and likely replace your pads soon. (the volume of fluid that would be occupying the cylinder is now occupying the caliper piston cavity)

If it is suddenly VERY low, you have a leak somewhere.
