FowlJesse's Slim Visor Installation Guide

Post by SuperK »

Istallation Instructions (It was misspelled in his original instructions)

Thanks for buying these! A LOT of time, and care went into researching, developing, haggling with the manufacturer, fixing their mistakes, and bending the front part. Enjoy these, and Email me with any comments, suggestions, funny videos, extra money, etc... at fowljessee@yahoo.com!

Installation:
You can play "Pin the visor on the MX-3", OR....

Clean the top of the door with rubbing alcohol where the tape will stick, and sand down the little tab thing, if it's not flat black (you don't HAVE to sand the thing, but it will look much better!).

Before taking off the red backing, hold the visors up to your car to determine exactly how you want them. I suggest holding the very front in place first. these are designed to bow a tiny bit, to fit over the tab thingy, that sticks out, so you may need to push forward on the back part a tiny bit, while holding the front in place. if you don't like how far the front part curls in, you can bend it back out a little, after holding it in boiling water for about 10 minutes, or using a heat gun.

When you know how you want them, take off the red backing and start by putting down the front corner, and stick it on inch by inch, overlapping the rubber about 1-2mm (by your own taste), all the way back. Then push hard on the taped part, to promote adhesion. Be careful. I ran my hand along it with pressure and the edge cut my finger. You should tape down the outside of the very rear part for the 2 days that it takes to cure, and check on it once in a while. Just use masking tape, or whatever kind of tape you want, but masking tape comes off easily.

I bought 2 sided tape that will stick forever but can be taken off without pulling up the paint. It is 3m t1100, (if you want to reorder, if you take them off and get the tape dirty).

Without my MX3, I am useless. I must fire up my MX3 true. I must drive straighter than any Honda driver who is trying to own me. I must own him before he owns me.
