Hello all

Post by stangant »

Hi there, name is Anthony. I am down in central Florida and just bought a 93 mx-3 GS. It has 103k miles and is in pretty good condition.

So far I am doing some resto work and cleaning. Other then that I have converted to double din and am in the process of installing a full audio system with 1 10" subwoofer.

Things it needs: suspension (shocks/struts), fully fix the sunroof (works ok for now), interior restoration, cargo cover.

What I will be installing: short shifter, CAI, rear oem fender flares.... and more.

pic time.

Since I bought the car I have loved it, It will be my daily driver as my last DD has become more of a race car. More about that can be found here.(http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2569732/2000-ford-mustang)

Hello and welcome to the forums, nice clean car :] ! For your audio there is a hole down behind the battery you can pop out so you don't have to drill any holes.

Please don't tap on the hood. It disturbs the gerbils.

Welcome! Nice clean mx-3! I thought your username and mustang looked familiar...I've seen you post on v6power.net. Gotta love split-port. 8) I split-port swapped my 94 T-bird about 5 years ago, but never finished it, haha.

Cheers!

Thanks all, I am not much for white.. every time I turn around it's dirty again. I was looking to do a factory paint job but they all don't impress me so I my go with a color that I think would look really nice and clean on the mx-3 which is a burnt orange. Now any paint job will not be done for a long time, but I think that is what i'm thinking.

Sweet, looking pretty tidy, which is always nice to see ;)
So glad that Australia wasn't blighted with the automatic seatbelts - aside from often failing, they also look like they'd be really awkward, even when they work properly!
I agree fully on the burnt orange - orange like Aarons looks pretty fresh, but I gotta admit I'm much more of a sucker for the burnt orange, metallic, and reckon it'd suit the MX well. My other top colours for the MX are a light metallic blue, and metallic gunmetal grey... (mind you, my cars dark red paintwork has also grown on me over the last 18 months... still probably wouldn't choose it, though!)
Here's two of my fave examples of orange done really well on MX's... I'm not a massive fan of some of these kits, etc., but the colours work well, IMO...

Anyway, welcome to the forum! :)

Hahaha parts are pretty damn hard to come by here!! Here, the MX-3 (or 30x as it was called) sold for almost $40k brand new, so its about as common as bottled bat's piss... haha! I did find one place about an hour's drive away that had a nearly-complete car, though, about a month back! (I had tried every wrecker between here & there, and every other wrecker in the area already!)
I can try give it a shot though, if I go back out that way sometime & get the time to do so! What are you after?

Oh just the "Eunos" steering wheel and the stationary seat belts and anything that says "Eunos". I think that it was the Eunos 30x in Australia so they may say it. I don't think it will be the momo one though.

I also really want to go to Australia and have been wanting to plan a trip there for a long time but it's a lot of money and flying.

Haha a steering wheel like the one in the 3rd pic down in here?
http://www.mx-3.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=75758

Haha there isn't much with Eunos written on it - the 30x had stickers for badges (until 1996, when it scored a plastic 30x badge, but pretty sure the Eunos sticker stayed (it was badged then as the Mazda Eunos 30x, so got a Mazda badge). Then they got a Eunos emblem (the V thing in my avatar pic) on the hood, and a few cars have those on the rear, too, but I think they've been added on after sale.
Other than that, pretty sure nothing says Eunos on it!!
