alright i just bought this car its all stock with the b6 and tranny, its a 5 speed
and it just wont budge into reverse. its like right before the gear its a wall.
it goes into all the other gears just fine with no grind.

Could be a broken or bent fork in the tranny. Could also just be a worn out clutch. When you're shifting in the forward gears do you have to put the clutch pedal all the way to the floor? It's a little tougher to get into reverse because of the shape of the gear so if your clutch plate is thin you might be getting enough disengagement to go into the forward gears, but not quite enough to get it into reverse.
