Idea for people riding your bumper with highbeams...

Post by MrMazda92 »

Backup lights wired to a switch(as an override, not replacing original function), for use in forward gears.

Anybody done this before?

I've always imagined a mirror.

That way they control their own torture. Makes it more motivating to be less of an a-hole.

There was a guy I knew in Buenos Aires who had a landing light from a 727 installed in his cabin, lighting through the rear windshield. The thing was 24V, so he had done some extra wiring (including an extra alty) to his car. I can personally attest that you could feel the heat from that beam at over 200 feet distance. 8)

Without going so extreme, I think a couple of foglights could be a good improvement, certainly a lot brighter than the back up lights...

why do you think I installed 2 rear foglamps? those things are bright and it makes people think I have my brake lights on! I usually get an immediate reaction of them backing off...

My personal favorite when I was in pittsburgh was my neons. Led blue and red pulse and anyone without a badge will back right off. Otherwise we have power mirrors, just ride the line and practice aiming your mirrors and use their own lights on them.

Wow, epic idea

I am partial to the backup lights, but those rear HIDs looked EVIL to me.

All good ideas, I'm going to use the mirrors until I find the motivation to do an HID rear setup. Were they just supplemental lights on the sides, I couldn't see?

Hhahaha sleeper6, that's awesome!
My mate has a set of spot lights the rear tray of his ute for that purpose. They're also handy when he goes camping or on surfing trips, but for the most part, they're defense against tail-gaters haha... I reckon they'd even work in the daytime, as they're pretty bright even then...
