Cleaning up an eyesore

Post by Calg_93GS »

So when I purchased my MX3, the previous owner had put a bumper sticker on the trunk lid right by the key hole. Unfortunately, when she tried to remove the sticker, it took a huge chunk of paint with it, since then its been an eyesore to me every time I look at the back end of the car. Decided today to do something about it...

spoiler take off, used an old large towel as a drop sheet for the bumper/lights
Image
little bit of rust that I found when I took the spoiler off
Image
bit more rust, nothing major

closeup of the missing paint :(

window taped up, first coat of paint on

closeup of the spot where the paint was missing from, 2nd or 3rd coat cant remember

everything back together

all done... so SO much better.. lol :D

Ahhh, the simple beauty of a white paintjob ;D Touchups like that are a breeze as far as blending goes... You did a fine job! =)

I'll bet you park backwards in your driveway just so you can see it first now huh? I would. 8)

I'm debating a DIY paintjob on my car now... You guys keep wowing me with yours... I might have to take the plunge.
