So for my 1.8 BP swap, I just got a cat-back setup. Here is my setup right now:
1.8L BP
stock piping from the BP exhaust mani/header to the cat converter (also stock).
2-inch piping from cat-converter to muffler.
2.25-inch inlet-outlet muffler. Turbo style muffler.. I can get the brand of muffler installed later.
All I can say is WOW! The shop, first off, knew their stuff. They were able to get me an exhaust that not only fits perfect, but sounds so nice! It's quiet at idle (almost nonexistent) and then as you get up on it you start to hear it. It's not as throaty as a muscle car, but then again your not going to get that with this engine lol. But it sounds simply great!
Also, I can tell I've got a bit more power at low RPM's. When my exhaust was all rusted, I was having to be high up in RPM's to get up hills.. now not so much!
I'll get some pics and a sound clip up soon. I still need to get a muffler tip, but they said they'd weld it on free of charge.. they also said I thought the exhaust was too loud they'd put a resonator in free of charge as well.. but heck it sounds good as is!
I'll get an exact cost for this shortly but it was about 340 bucks total. Mandrel bent.
Just got my exhaust work done!

Yeah man it's crazy eh? Exhaust is one area that a lot of people neglect, but it can give you so many gains if done properly (or losses if done improperly!). I went to one of the best exhaust shops in the city and it was worth every penny. Even all the other V6 guys are jeleous of mine

Re: Just got my exhaust work done!
did you end up using that offset dynomax muffler?
i wonder what they did to make it so quiet during idle. idle-2800rpm is the loudest in my car, but anything above 3000rpm is nice. im gonna swap my resonator to a 24" glasspack and see if that helps.

Nope, but I'll ask what muffler they did use.
