We don't waste time boosting the 1.6
They make clutches for it, its a Miata motor too.

Actually I agree. The B6 is a boost friendly enough motor, especially since a factory B6T does exist. Miata guys do it all the time. cjthor has one making 300whp.youdirtyfox wrote:so lay off the newb s--- eh?

I'm not sure what turbo you are talking about running 7 psi. I know mine did not hold worth crap. Change it now, there is little head room on the stock clutch.
I went with a spec 2+.. still need to install.

Re: Using standard clutch on 1.6 engine running 7psi boost?
I'll be using a Garrett T25 or T28 , making an adaptor block for the manifold
as IHI VJ etc's are scarce over here!
plenty of uprated clutches for the MX5 here, not for the '3 though, so maybe I'll fit a mx5 1.6 flywheel? as the clutches have a different part numbers, so I'll assume a mx5 1.6 clutch
will not bolt straight upto to a mx3 1.6 flywheel...?!

ya,
like I said, I went with a spec stage 2+ for my 96 RS+T. Our cars are pretty much the same.
