replacing thermostat on MX3 GS, fml...

Post by SteeleMX3 »

I realised it wasn't worth it to take my 92' MX3 GS into a shop to get the thermostat replaced when i was quoted $200 and I bought the thermostat from partsource for about $15. So I went to replace it and fml, it's covered by 500 wires. anyone have suggestions on how to do this simply?
cheers.

Hahaha FML

Just unplug all those shits and move em outa the way. You cant really confuse the plugs up cause they only fit one connector.

This is really easy. I would suggest draining/flushing your cooling system while you're at it, since you will need to refill up a bit after replacing it anyway.

Take the plug out by the passenger side of the radiator, through the bumper. Drain all the coolant so you don't get it all over your engine bay.

Replace thermostat, then follow procedure for refilling cooling system. Make sure to burp air bubbles.

Should take you no more than a few hours to do everything, make sure you have antifreeze before you drain the system as you can't drive to pick it up with none in the car!

That sounds like a challenge to me!
