Revert back to OEM body style and paint the car the same color or white with abit of blue pearl. Or even better, silver haha

Damn I am biased. But seriously, the color you have now is nice!

Go back to OEM

I say go back to oem, stay with that colour, and remove all chrome. There's already a two tone battle going on somewhere else on this site, general concensus, don't do it.

+1

Car would look dope if it was canned with a sick color like that and a good sturdy OEM style

I guess it depends on the car show. Personally, I agree with 93vtecklr and Solo_ryder.

As it is right now, besides the fact that the car looks like the very definition of rice, there's way too much going on to even think of a 2 tone. The car would look like a circus.
But if you removed all the clutter, you could probably get some nice graphics, and in my opinion the car would look much better. Right now, you could paint it flat black, and it'd still be loud as hell.

Have you considered maybe like a mazdaspeed nose with your Intercooler behind it? Some OEM sideskirts or the mazdaspeed style ones?

You would still have a kit, but it would be mellow and still look different from OEM. Plus youd have more ground clearence

Does rice really win at car shows?

I would think car show winners would be cars people WANT to drive...

Unfortunately, when it comes to imports, in most cases the answer is yes. Car shows have become a "the more stuff you can cram in your car, the better" kinda deal, and good taste is getting to be a thing of the past.

Same age old battle. To each his own, he's asking us for our opinions so let's not label him. The car is an eye catcher, but not a head turner in my HUMBLE opinion. When you put a whole bunch of things on the car, it takes away from the lines, and curves that drew us to them to begin with. The exterior of my car will never be anything but stock, as well as the interior. I love my car that way, and I will always own it that way. I'm a much larger fan of the angry eye mod over o.e. type projectors than hacked up fenders with civic projectors. Again I must stress, that these are my opinions. But I'll stress harder, lose the chrome.

Yeah, it does... :(
Especially with a car with so much potential.
Take a look at this thread, for example:

http://www.mx-3.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=69754

I think there's no doubt that's a highly customized MX-3. However, it's been designed with respect for the car's lines, and the result is strikingly beautiful and clean.
That car would probably win any design contest it was presented on, but at a car show, nobody would give it a second look.

Sad, really.

The way I see it, he's asking for our opinions, and that's what he's getting...
In my HUMBLE ( ) opinion, the car is a freak show. Sorry, I know it's harsh, but at least I'm honest...
The exterior of my (future) MX-3 will NOT be stock, and neither will be the interior, but I plan on modifying it without distorting the car's lines, and without converting it into a parts display.

Anyways, I agree, the chrome is an eyesore...
