This may be the most utterly ridiculous question, then again... it may not be.
This was my post about my transmission a few nights ago: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=69986
Knowing full well, and having affirmation from the response to that post, that a transmission is a highly sophisticated partially electronic piece of equipment, my question is this...
On my '93 MX-3 1.6 liter, with a puny 60 amp alternator, is it possible that my subwoofer amplifier is drawing oh-so-much current (it does NOT have a capacitor and is capable of dimming the headlights, though I don't turn it up that high) that it is 'starving' the ECM/ECU/Computer/Whatever-you-wanna-call-it of juice, and somehow screwing up my electronically controlled lockout, and causing the overheating issues with my transmission?
The tranny shop is going to call me later to tell me that there are no more problems with/tests they can run on my transmission, and that I'll need to take it to a shop that does electric work. I just bought a salvage ECU off of the 'bay for $30, just in case, and I'm going to have the harness inspected.
If you think this is possible, let me know... otherwise if anyone can think of any other electrical wildness OUTSIDE the transmission that would cause the tranny to no longer lockup, please respond.
Thanks,
Dan S.

I seriously doubt it could do that, the ECU doesn't use much current. And if your subs are off then the amp wouldn't draw any current anyway. Probably something wrong with the wiring harness.
