Anyone raced w/ K-Sport coilovers?
I've been researching, and most of the people who have raced with them said that the rears failed within a few months (also some that didn't race). I wanted to get a set, but I plan to run them hard.

I think you are thinking of dropzone coilovers...
I think turbulence23 just got the k-sports and I know steroking15 was talking about them...

Re: Anyone raced w/ K-Sport coilovers?
I've seen K-sports sell for $800 - $900. $1500 sounds like robbery. For that much you can get the Teins. I checked hpfreaks and their price went down and it's now just over a grand.

You can't really compare price of springs to full coilovers, since full coilovers also include shocks. You'd have to add the cost of springs to the cost of shocks. H&Rs + Tokico HPs, for example, would be around $550 at retail price.

Re: Anyone raced w/ K-Sport coilovers?
what do you mean you cant compare prices of springs to coilovers. 1500 bucks for coilovers is ridiculous. if you had a civic you could get coilovers for less then H&Rs and some tokicos.
granted coilovers are cheaper for something like that because of the demand they are in compared to a mx3, but 1500 is way too much for a street car.

Your Joking me right? 1500 is ridiculous? Your ridiculously cheap (lol no offense)! Here are just some of the options I have for my IS300:
Toms $3600
Airforce $2600
Apexi $2700
C-One $3500
HKS $1800
JIC $1800
Tanabe $1800
Tein $1800
If you had a civic? I think people fail to look at the difference in the coilovers taht are selling for 5-700 dollars, they are not really made for that much performance, they are really just so you can bring your car UP, and you can let your car DOWN. Thats also why those same guys blow there stuff out in a few months and are replacing them. Cheap parts for cheap people and they don't perform worht a damn, if you just wanna ride low get some springs and some struts. If you want performance you get coilovers, and not EL CHEAPOs. You PAY TO PLAY.

Re: Anyone raced w/ K-Sport coilovers?
A guy I auto-x with has been racing K-Sports for awhile and has been very successful, placing in the top 3 continuously with more than a few first place finishes. I dont know if they make them to a different quality for Civics but based on his performance I'd say theyre good.
And to the guy saying $1500 is ridiculous for coilovers, you're ridiculous. Go get some dropzones you rice boy.

Re: Anyone raced w/ K-Sport coilovers?
Yes, Civic coilovers might be cheaper due to mass market availability, but $1500 isn't bad at all. Even $2500 is reasonable for a good performance oriented street/track package. Proper coilovers offer custom spring rates, they're tuned and valved to those specific rates, they allow dampening and rebound adjustment, and they're made with high quality materials and craftsmanship, so they perform reliably during performance driving. It's not just about raising and lowering your ride.projectzemx3 wrote:what do you mean you cant compare prices of springs to coilovers. 1500 bucks for coilovers is ridiculous. if you had a civic you could get coilovers for less then H&Rs and some tokicos.
