Megasquirt 2.2 RPM

Post by marcdh »

Just started messing with my megasquirt v2.2 with the ms1 processor, that I aquired from someone who it bought from a shadome/probetalk GB. Unfortunately I can't find one colour chart that matches the supplied harness, so I've just been working out what each wire it using an AA battery and seeing how megatune reacts!

I've been tapping in one wire at a time and now have active:
-Power when 'ON'
-Coolant temp sensor
-MAP
-RPM/tach

However my RPM reading is approximately 200/250, when in reality it's more like 1200! Is there an obvious setting I'm missing? Seems like it needs multiplied by 6! :?

And the answer brought to you by hppwdn is connect to the correct sensor you fool :D

I had connected MS to the 180 camshaft sensor (1pulse every 180), the 6 vane sensor is the one to connect to. It is the 3rd pin in the 6 pin disty connector counting from the firewall to the front (green and brown wire IIRC). Just in case anyone ever has the same problem as me :)

Now for the next question of why my laptop stops talking to MS after 10 seconds... :x
