Were you using it to fill cavities in the car frame? I know they foam fill race cars to stiffen the frames (we never used it on muscle cars, didn't need to ).

its nice cus once it hardens you can shape it with a knife

Or be like me and help sound deaden the car. After doing so you make more holes in your rockers with green stuffs gooing out.

I used it to glue on my sideskirts, before screwing them in on the underside, and in the wheelwells. You just need to get familiar with how much it will expand. If you fill a hole with it, it will expand out, and create a mess. But, if you fill the hole 1/4 , it will just come out a little. Also, you need to use the appropriate expansion rate. For cars, I just use the window sealer, with the lowest expansion.

fowljesse made mention of it, and I thought it was a poor idea... however, I attempted using some of it anyways.

It's extremely rigid and has a strange density which apparently doesn't absorb sound well at all.

Filling the nooks and crannies I have found, is much smarter using a type of insulating material (I recommend fiberglass for the outside, cellulose for the inside) then a type of "panel" adhesive to seal it off... such as a sound deadening sheet, since it's high tech tar.
if airtight is a desire or necessity, seal it off with any type of sealant.

Great Stuff is too expensive and too heavy to cover an intended area. I ended up buying fiberglass to insulate the outer panels, such as the front fenders. It was cheaper, more effective, much easier, lighter per sq foot. and much better results.

Actually for sound you use Rocksul not fiberglass and the beauty of that produce is it doesn't absorb water. There are different types of foam for different applications. Great Stuff degrades if exposed to the elements if you don't paint over it. Kinda turns powdery and crumbles. Like another forum says, use any advise at your own risk.

I am going to guess you are talking about Roxul? The mineral fiber insulation?

I am under the impression that product is not very pliable and not suited for tight or installations that require it to be pliable.

It also doesn't like steel all too well.

BTW Hilti foam is much better than great stuff , but is more expensive than great stuff . Stronger , less porous and is probraly a much better sound deadening device .
