Replacing seats--substitutes?

Post by czwan »

Sorry if this has been asked a million times; I tried looking around...

I was wondering if MX-6 seats will possibly fit in an MX-3. Or if there are any known seats from other vehicles/makes that easily fit in an MX-3.

My seats are destroyed, and no salvage yard around here has any MX-3s. If I knew of any substitute makes/models, maybe I could try searching around for those.

Thanks a lot.

Not too sure if the MX-6 seats will fit, you'd have to compare the mounting brackets to the floor and dimensions and mounting points? I thought I read somewhere that seats out of the Ford Escort would fit? But the seating position might be too high, as the MX-3 seats probably have a lower seating position. I know it would probably cost a lot more but have you looked at maybe aftermarket racing seats with rails?

escort seats are bolt on (that's why so many escort owners throw our seats in their cars). protege seats are too. there's like a 3 or 4 inch height difference though, so if ur tall i wouldn't recommend it. i read somewhere on here that mx6 seats dont fit because they're too wide.

any seat can be swapped as long asd the seats fit youll just have to redrill holes for the rails. i'm pretty sure integra seats bolt right up in the front, so you'd only have to drill 2 holes.

i bought oem mx3 seat covers off of ebay. they came out great ( have a pic of one finished posted on here somewhere). the guy goes up and down with the prices, i got mine fairly cheap
