It's been a good 4 years *GOOD NEWS INSIDE*

Post by Urbanconcept »

Sadly within the next week or so I will have sold my mx3. I will be passing on my creation to a good friend and she will be left in caring hands. Its tough to say goodbye to such a fantastic car. I have loved driving it since the first day I bought it four years ago. I began with a stock 95 red RS, gathering parts over the span of almost four years. It wasn't until last summer that I fianlly saw all of my hard work pay off as I was able to have the car painted and my parts put on. Having recently added leather seats and a new 13 inch steering wheel, as well as my own custom built LED tail lights, I am finally letting go of the car. (It seems strange that now that I have finished the car I am going to sell it.) However the opportunity has come up to buy a car I have always loved and admired. This so happened to coincide with my other friend wanting to purchase his first car. And so from one beginning's end comes a new fresh start.

Having said that, I wanted to take the time to thank all of you who have helped me over the years with my project. I have met many amazing people who have shared a wealth of knowledge with me. It truely has been a priviledge to be a member of this community.

Again, many thanks to all of you.

I'm thinking of buying my buddy's delsol, but then I would also have to get a winter beater. So I'm not 100% sure yet. I'll keep you all posted though and I will toss up some pics after I make my decision.

I'm not really worried about the jokes because the delsol I'm interested in is all custom. It has a 96 civic front end with a wings west urethane front bumper which gives it a much better look than the tiny original delsol headlights.

Sorry to see another one go. I will say it's always something that bugs me, when people finally finish their project than sell it, not even getting much of a chance to enjoy it. For me it would make me feel like it was all for nothing.

This is going to be a rough year for us...my car's not even on the road :(

Meh, when I first got my Mx-3, I've gotten my fair share of "girls car" comments.

Don't worry. I've enjoyed the car for four years, and for one entire year of it being completely finished (is there is ever such a thing? haha).

The way I see it, I am giving my car a fresh start, someone new who will enjoy it even more because it will be his first car.

I am pleased to announce I WILL BE KEEPING MY MX3!!!! WOOOOOOOO
This means that within the next couple weeks she will be finally fully finished.

To do list:

MX3 retrofitted headlights (I have a spare set of lights, and infinity fx35 bi-xenon projectors. Its all apart just waiting to be fitted. :D )

LED front turn signals and marker lights. (one LED turn signal is finished)

LED rear marker lights (the easiest of all planned mods. should take maybe a day to finish both, possibly two for both front and back)

I'm glad, and hope you are not disappointed. I never liked Del Sol's. I felt like they're wanna-be Porsche 914s, which is the poor man's Porsche, anyway. Your car is especially unique, and you should be proud.

Well I decided that selling my car for $3000, then dumping in another $3500 on top of that for a car I can't drive in the winter really isn't a good idea for my at this point in my life. On top of the $6500 I would have to buy a beater for the winter. Also there really isn't anything out there that compares to my wicked awesome mx3 in the range of $3000 to $4000.

Really, my car is super reliable, has working AC for those stupid hot summer days, and is fully custom. So why buy something that I don't know its history? Why run the risk of buying a lemon?

So I decided I would keep her. I just love the car too much and after thinking of all those things mentioned above, its clearly the right choice!

No chance on buying a lemon from me. Those that know me know that I've owned my MX3 for over 13 years. And it never gets beaten on. With over 13k spent on it 2.5 years ago and not driven in the last 1.5 years, there's tons of reliability in my MX. A good buy for 5k.
