BP ECU swap.... won't work???

Post by Dark_Rider2k3 »

Okay the best way to explain this is by the following:

old ecu:

BP ECU:

So.. yeah.. my current ECU has 3 plugs (and that sensor), whereas the BP only has 2 plugs :(

any ideas what to do, or am i just screwed?

Old ECU look like my V6 ECU (92-95). Is the other a 4cyl ECU? One way or the other I vote your screwed. Do you have a 4 or a 6 cyl? If it's a 4 I can check our wreckers. They have 2 4cyls in there right now.

I know you believe that you understand what you think I said but I'm sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

4cyl. And i'm getting up parts for the BP swap, and the 2nd ECU pic is of the BP (it says BPVR EGI BPVR 18 881A 078700-6000 12V Denso Made In Japan 0060006)

yeah that's what makes it more odd LOL...

also, Trevo's BP throttle body won't work either.. his electrical "plug" has 3 connections on it, whereas mine has 4.

at least the VAF he sent me works

Thats probably the difference between auto and manual. The TPS also has 4 connections for auto and 3 for manual i think.

Also 90-94 BP ECU is compatible only with 92-93 SOHC harness - it wont fit into the 94 DOHC harness......

well I guess it's still worth keeping these parts for when I do my BP swap haha... they are just going to have wait to be installed...
