change my altezzas

Post by OutlaW »

I've been thinkin about something ...
since my Altezza black tail lights are allways foggy ... i went ahead and bought some black silicone to try and improve the joint's ...
the thing is that water doesnt enter from the outside glass... it goes inside the glass from the small glass windows that hold the lamps.
I was thinkin about making my altezzas one of a kind ...
if i take these :

and remove the outside glass ... wouldnt they look like these front lights ?

i think they would look cool ...

I have thought about taking the lense off the altezzas since I have 2 extra sets lying around... makes it look like a ferrari or something 8)

yes, it will not be one of a kind ... that's for sure :freak:
I know that he had some bondo and sanded it, i thought about that too because without the glass there are imperfeccions and holes to cover ...
I am feelin really dumb right now, let me hang on for a few hours :confused2:

Here's an idea:
After taking off the lenses, buy a sheet of CF, cut to fit the outside shape of the tails, cut out holes for the individual lights, trim them stick them on. If I had the $$, I'd do this.

Heheh. I was thinking "I gotta tell Mooneggs about this idea" while writing that.
O.K., it was more like "I gotta get mooneggs to sell me one of his Altezza sets, and help me do this."
But, yeah, it would look best on your fast car.

I've done the whole removing the lense on a set of altezzas. Water was still able to get inside of the smaller round lenses. I took so much time removing all of the sealant, then I repainted them. Not really worth the time if you ask me. I think that an altezza tail behind a stock lense looks good, however I get the same look with my LED's mounted behind a stock lense without the whole awkward reverse light part!!

Hmm, my are condensing all the time, and this is a cool way to absolutely remove the problem, but wouldn't it get terribly dirty in there?

That looks really good without the plastic cover. I may just give it a shot.
