Mazdaspeed LSD

Post by Unreal-Icarus »

Hi guys,

i'm planing a gtr engine-swap within the next months and i was wondering what LSD i should use with the 1,9l protege/323 LX tranny. I've read alot about phantom Grip Mazdaspeed and quaife lsds here, but quaife is much to expensive for me, phantomgrip is said to be no that good and the mazdaspeed lsd i cannot find anywhere. Could you give me an advice where i can get one ? If the MS lsd works like the phantom grip, why should it be better ? i expect the price is higher too...
Would be the 1,9l protege/323 LX tranny the right one to use ? i won't go higher than 250 hp.

thx
greetings Icarus

I'm not sure if it's as bulletproof as the Quaiffe, but seems solid and for $1000 you'd have a pretty scookum tranny.
This is a post I made a couple of weeks ago. My local Mazda dealer said I could have all of these parts ina week, so they're probably in the warehouse in Toronto.

If you had searched the Transmission forum with the word LSD, this would have been one of the first results...I'm just saying.

I believe the author is a member of this board as well. He is Mazdaracer on iMazda and I'm pretty sure the guy with that name here is the same guy. I have sent him a pm regarding posting it for us.

The original post on iMazda was done using a Protege tranny I think. The LSD might cost you a fair bit to get, but everything else is small and would fit in a small box. If you have a friend here, they could get the parts and ship them to you easily.
