ignition tumbler

Post by 94mxthree »

My ignition tumbler is on its last leg,its getting harder and harder to get the key out of the lock position,so i called Mazda today to price a new one since oreillys don't carry them.Well for $240 gets me a new one with key,but I'm gonna use that as a last resort,so my question is, does anybody know of any websites that carry the lock cylinder in stock?i would like to get new, just so i know its got alot of time ahead of it before it acts up again, any help would be nice, thanks guys.

I have had this problem with 2 different MX3's. The cheapest solution is to go to a junk yard and grab one off a parts car and take it to a locksmith and have it recoded to your old key. Should be able to do it for less than $100.

What year and model are your car?

'92-'93 ATX Ignition Tumber

I didn't think there was a difference in the year or model either.
